Placet Hic Requiescere Musis is the social building of the Utrechtsch Studenten Corps in Utrecht. The building is usually referred to as 'PHRM', 'the pub' or 'the Yellow Castle'. The building was designed in 1898 by the architect August Heinrich Zinsmeister and built in 1900 at the Janskerkhof. Placet Hic Requiescere Musis means "It pleases the Muses to rest here" in Latin.

We design ourselves

All models are designed by ourselves and then printed in our 3D printing studio. This way we can switch quickly, make small series and still remain creative. Moreover, within the manufacturing industry we are purely Dutch in this way and we do not have to have anything produced abroad.

The productionproces

  • The models are printed with high-quality 3D printers
  • After printing, they are finished by hand
  • Then they get a white coating for extra protection

Materials

  • The models are made of Bio plastic (PLA)
  • Only suitable for indoor use and do not place in direct sunlight
  • It is non-toxic, paintable and easy to rinse off
  • If properly maintained, it will last at least 10 years

On February 26, 1816, the Utrechtsche Studenten Sociëteit 'Placet Hic Requiescere Musis' was founded. After being housed in different places, at the end of the nineteenth century there was a strong need for their own housing. On October 13, 1892, a “building fund” was therefore established. On November 24, 1897, a house with garden on the Janskerkhof was bought with the intention of tearing it down and erecting a new building. Of the 66 submitted designs for a new building, the design by the architect August Zinsmeister (1867-1941) was the most popular. After some changes, this design was finally approved on February 2, 1899. On April 23, 1901, the official opening of the building on the Janskerkhof took place with great interest.
